 Robyn Fenty, aka Robyn Rihanna [2] (/ri’aen@/ (listen) (listen) -@;[3][4][n 1,] was born in February 20, 1988. She is a Barbadian actor, singer and businesswoman. Born in Saint Michael and raised in Bridgetown, Barbados, Rihanna auditioned for American record producer Evan Rogers who invited her to the United States to record demo tapes. After joining Def Jam, in 2005, Rihanna quickly gained fame through the release of her first two studio albums, Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006). These albums were strongly influenced by Caribbean music, and made it to the top ten positions on the US Billboard 200 Chart. Good Girl Gone Bad, Rihanna's third album, was influenced by dance music. It made her a sex icon in the music industry. Rihanna's first Grammy Award was won for her smash single "Umbrella" which launched Rihanna to global fame. The next three studio albums, Rated R (2010) and Loud (2010) and Talk That Talk (2011), continued her mix of R&B and pop. Unapologetic (2012) was her first Billboard 200 top-ten album. These albums resulted in a number of chart-topping singles , including "Rude Boy", “Only Girl (In the World)," and "What's My Name?" ", "S&M", "We found Love" & "Diamonds". Anti (2016), her eighth album was her first album since leaving Def Jam. It became her second US top-selling album and included the chart-topping hit single "Work". Rihanna has collaborated with numerous musicians throughout her career. They include Jay-Z as well as Kanye West. Jay-Z, Jay-Z, Kanye Ne-Yo, Shakira. Rihanna, who has sold more than 250,000,000 records across the globe is the second highest-selling female artist in the field of music. She has been a top-ten performer with 14 numbers and 31 top ten singles in the US and 30 top-ten entries in the UK. Nine Grammy Awards, 13 American Music Awards including the Icon Award, 12 Billboard Music Awards as well as six Guinness World Records and the NAACP's President's Award are just a handful of her awards. Time classified her as among the top 100 most influential individuals throughout the world in 2012 and 2018. Forbes ranked her among the top ten most-paid celebrities in 2012 and 2014.
